Must have heard frequently about mdc band! This is one band that has a very strange acronym…mdc…Millions of dead Cops! Worth laughing out loud! With such a strange name given to their band, it is worth pondering over what this mdc band is actually about. Band should imply singing…but…ummm…is it actually what all of us seem to be conjuring up in our minds? Let’s see what the thing turns out to be. HOW IT ALL STARTED?
About Millions of dead cops, most of you must be aware that it is a punk band in Austin. Umm…the knowledge is not so heard to digest occurs because the implication from the name is something like this. It is an American band that formed in 1979 in Texas. They had been based in various other states prior to their moving to Texas. They went to California, San Francisco and currently they are noticed in Oregon. The name Millions of dead cops was not their original name. Initially, they were called The Stains, later they decided to change the name to Mdc and we know exactly what it stands for after having read trough the complete form many times. The band used to play extremely heightened punk rock music and their focus used to be on the leftist sociopolitical issues which have enable them to be affiliated with the dead Kennedys and Jello Biafra. Well, these are just the few to mention. There are also many other bands they have been associated with, all dating back to the 1980s. By the way, an interesting thing about mdc band name is that they used to experiment considerably with their initials with every music launch. In 1995, they had their final run and then they made a huge comeback with some more members added to their group in the new millennium.
THE GROUP MEMBERS
The earlier and obviously the pioneers of this band were Al Schvitz who used to play drums, Ron Posner and he was responsible for playing the guitar, Michael Donaldson was habitual of the bass and the last one among the group was the outstanding vocalist Dave Dictor. With the changing times, the group added more members and the drum man Al Schvitz was replaced by another person called Al Batross. The new additions were many and therefore the comeback was memorable and literally what is termed as back with a bang. The drums were not then just handled by one person. Other drum handlers included John Soldo, Erik Mischco, Dejan Podobnik and the bass players also included more than just one person. The band visited many countries. They had line up tours, most which were held in Europe in the year 2006 and 2007. The 2008 lineup was held in their own birth continent, the United States of America.
